Am I missing something?
I'm with you Al. I'd hate to think that in another ten years I would not respond to the sight of an attractive woman.

Now, if the guy made the comment within ear-shot of the woman, or even the waitress, that could have been a bit uncomfortable. But sharing a 'yummy' comment with another guy? Seems pretty tame to me. Heck, it seems normal to me.

Al is correct. I'm in my 60s and see lots of yummy women. The comment is harmless and sometimes accurate. Two guys commenting on a gorgeous babe? Not a thing wrong with that.

Re: Wild Comment............

Maybe women don't want to be ogled, leered or commented on? There's a time (like in your teens?) and place where that behavior is appropriate. I'm sure if that 40 year old, professionally dressed "yummy dish" heard his comments she would've shot the both of you a dirty look. Surely, she would've not appreciated the comment if she were entertaining clients/business associates as well.

I don't mean to be a sour apple and all. I've been on the other side, like most of the mature ladies on this forum and it's annoying NOT flattering.

Re: Wild Comment............

I misread your post at first. I thought you were saying that she said, "Man, that's yummy" when she walked by your table, in reference to you or your table mate.

I could understand thinking that was wild.

I thought the same thing!!! I'm not surprised at all that HE said that. Women hear that kind of thing all the time, even when they have been up all night and look like $)(%*&.

I think the proper form is "She's delicatessen stuff."

Re: Wild Comment............

I wasn't shocked at all, but then I related this to my husband and HE was shocked! And he'll be 52 this year. So I teased him about whether he really thought he wouldn't notice women when he is 60.

Of course, he would never say anything out loud.

I agree, but I don't see where he did anything rude.......I'm with Al and the others..............whats the big deal? Last I checked, women love being noticed in a polite fashion.

I'm always slightly shocked when I hear guys say stuff like this. I certainly think this all the time, but I would never say it in a professional setting.

Re: Wild Comment............

When I started my career - I had a Regional manager that was in his late 40s. He would cease talking and listening any time an attractive woman walked by - followed by some guttoral mmmmmmmmm sound. Really funny to me - the guy was normal in "most" other ways. I got so I would stop talking as a woman walked by to watch the reaction :

I saw him at a convention around 5 years ago - he was in his early 60s....he was still at it - he stopped talking and mmmmmmed as a couple woman walked by the booth

PS - he has been married to the same woman for over 35 years - and I don't think he ever messed around.

Finance Dude, you can be forgiven for being taken aback--you ARE a dude!

Women know that men are adolescent morons most all of the time, so we are not unduly surprised by these comments!
