The business, Pamela Martin and Associates, functioned as a high-end adult fantasy firm which offered legal sexual and erotic services across the spectrum of adult sexual behavior and did so without incident during its 13 year tenure.....Deborah ran an high-end D.C. escort service from her home in Vallejo, Ca....now there's an idea for a part-time home business for those looking for extra income to fund ER/to increase early retirement income/to take up a new hobby....she retired from the business in 2006 - looks like it was an ER...

It's going to get really juicy in the coming days....15,000 clients....

For about $300, she promised 90 minutes of what she has described as a discreet “legal high-end erotic fantasy service.” But the discreet part is over, after federal authorities charged her with operating a prostitution ring.

“The tentacles of this matter reach far, wide and high into the echelons of power in the United States,” Ms. Palfrey wrote in a court filing last month, as she prepared to release a list of her clients’ telephone numbers and vowed to subpoena her customers — some of whom she described as prominent Washington officials.

It is a defense strategy that had its first casualty Friday.

Randall L. Tobias, the top foreign aid adviser in the State Department, became the most prominent person on the list to be publicly identified when he resigned after acknowledging to ABC News that he was among Ms. Palfrey’s clients. The State Department’s statement on Mr. Tobias’s resignation said simply, “He is returning to private life for personal reasons.”

ABC News reported that Mr. Tobias told the network on Thursday that he had called Pamela Martin and Associates — Ms. Palfrey’s business — for massage services, not for sex....isn't that what the pastor from Colorado said...Mr. Tobias, who was the director of foreign assistance and the administrator of the Agency for International Development, ran agencies that required foreign recipients of AIDS assistance to explicitly condemn prostitution.....

My dad worked for USAID for 30 years. I am going to have to ask him his opinion of the guy but I get the impression that he was another CEO who expected everyone to cover for him.

Mr. Tobias also pushed the idea that the best weapon against AIDS was teaching abstinence and healthy relationships between men and women (BTW he is married and living with his wife).

He also pushed the idea that condoms aren't effective against disease transmission.

He was using an 'escort service' that used Central American women; how many of them were legally and willingly in the USA and in the 'escort' business?

Did he use condoms during his 'massages'?

you can bet there are a lot of guys in D.C. sweating bullets right now......hehehehe

why is it that the ones who end up getting caught in these things are the most outspoken moralists.....this guy was busy promoting abstinence and marital fidelity at the same time he was getting his "massages" , un poco mas bajo, por favor..... ( a little lower please.....just a tiny bit lower.......ahhh.....THERE it is.......")

I think these things could hardly happen to nicer guys.

That sounds mighty uncomfortable... most masseuses prefer to use their hands, don't they?

Wanna bet they blame this on Clinton.

I saw the woman on TV. Her comment:( I'm probably mangling it, but you get the idea) "If you think I'm going to spend one day in a federal prison, much less 3-4 years while high-rollers go free, think again."

Let's see, at $300 an hour, what's 2 minutes cost? Talk about return on assets!

Her employees were "independent agents"; they were subcontractors. Some of them had great jobs, were married, had phds, etc. This is too good. They got Dick Morris again. Yawn. Get somebody we don't suspect. Tell us about a hypocrite.

Clinton is probably pissed he didn't have her number, so he had to spend more quality time with less attractive interns........... :D :D

Yeah.....those pesky legal expenses.....of course we may well find out that numbers of the folks who were making it necessary for him to have to do that may be caught up in similar problems themselves. This is fun......

I'm enjoying the plight of one of the first names on her list, Harlan Ullman....not really a household name, but the person who developed the military doctrine of "Shock and Awe"........which didn't appear to go in Iraq any better than his personal situation promises to.

Many more to come......many more to come......love to watch hypocrites fall......can appreciate plain ole reprobates, but hypocrites.....no.

She said that she had 10,000 to 15,000 names on the list so it should be quite interesting.

I saw that on the followup to the Tobias article that in addition to demanding that grant receivers preach abstinence that they also oppose prostitution.

He reminds me of the Florida congresscritter who was strongly against child molestation but was hitting on the underage pages. Was it Freud who said that you strongly oppose that what you don't like about yourself?

DC Madam

This could be the mother lode of bimbo eruptions.

<Two names have been released so far, though ABC News reports on its Web site that potential "witnesses" could include a "Bush administration economist, the head of a conservative think tank, a prominent CEO, several lobbyists and a handful of military officials.">

Oops, sorry, just noticed there was another thread on this.

10-15k names on the list. If only 10% of them are power players that could empty out the Bush administration. So maybe it's not all that bad.

At this point people in the federal government are probably worried that they're not on the list.

LOL. You're right, if you're not on the list you're not a power player, and/or you might be on the don't ask don't tell list.

Or force democratic congress critters to resign.

I don't think that they would be embarassed enough to resign. Look at Barney Frank.

You could be right. That doesn't say much for the Dems.

Hmmm, except most of them aren't spending all their time telling everyone how abstinence is the only way to prevent AIDS and condoms are evil (while putting their "little soldier" in prostitutes' "woowoo places").

Regardless of whose name comes up, this will be a lot of fun to watch.

It's interesting that those phone records she's releasing are records on outgoing calls. Do the clients give her their home phone number? Did Tobias?

I'd have thought that usually someone would call her and say "Send the masseuse to..." And if that person were smart, he'd call from a phone booth.
