You Could Not Go Broke Betting On Human Stupidity And Prejudice

"Far from debunking morality, then, the science of the moral sense can advance it, by allowing us to see through the illusions that evolution and culture have saddled us with and to focus on goals we can share and defend. As Anton Chekhov wrote, “Man will become better when you show him what he is like.”"
This is a long subtle article. My working hypothesis in life has mostly been "If many people believe it, it is almost certainly wrong, incomplete, appealing to the emotions over the mind" or some variant of these things.

This article shows me that I will likely not live long enough to ever really understand the complexity of people's attitudes (probably including my own!) and of social life itself. My life goal at this point is to become less stupid, less reactive, and less controlled by being "for or against" some thing or cause or idea.
