I'm not in IT either, but personally I'd work another TWO years to avoid going back to school .

Some people enjoy going going back to school / programming so it isn't really work but it is not for everyone.
Do you have a hobby you enjoy that could also make money?

Yes, my plan is to make 5k doing something hobby related. I love crafting and a job at a craft store would be great. I woulnd't sell my own craftwork as that would probably take the joy out of it for me. I also really enjoyed working in a grocery store when I was a kid - I'd do that again in a heartbeat.
