Airline Fees

Remember those fees that airlines started tacking on a couple years ago to "offset the high cost of fuel"? Well, the cost of fuel went down and guess what....

That's why I fly Southwest whenever possible.

Now, what I am really interested in seeing is an updated version of fuel surcharges.

What was the cost of a ticket 20 years ago compared to your total cost today excluding airport, TSA fees, and other taxes that were not there years ago?

20 years ago I was regularly buying PHL / BOS tickets - I remember for years the round trip price was $212.50.

Not exact comparison, but Southwest has PHL / Manchester NH for $118 round trip (plus some fees).
