Been getting Ameriprise Financial spam for a few mo.

Sometimes it ends up in my spam filter, sometimes not.

So, I reached out with an E-mail to this Ameriprise Financial adviser sending the stuff:

" Good afternoon Mr. Hill,

I have been receiving E-mails from Ameriprise / your office for several months. They usually wind up in the spam filter, but sometimes get through.

To whom may I thank for selling my personal e-mail address to your company ?

Sincerely

XXXXXXXXXXX

cc: D. XXXXXXXX , Esq. "

Strange, it's been 2 weeks , he hasn't responded, and doesn't send any more spam my way. I really do want to know their source that sold them my name and e-mail address.

Most email providers have a feature to block an address or domain completely. Maybe try that, so it gets canned before arriving at your email client.

Seems like a waste to expect that he would respond at all and even less likely to tell you where he got your email if he even knows. Was there an unsubscribe option?
By my way of thinking you just confirmed your email is being read making your email address more desirable.
