Article: 2014 a Banner Year for Early Retirement?

I was reading the article posted in this thread:
http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...ent-70667.html

When I was done reading that article - I clicked a few more links and found another article posted on the yahoo finance site:

2014 a Banner Year for Early Retirement?

Interesting how the second article starts with the premise that if you've saved a lot of money or have other revenue streams you CAN retire early. Especially now that the ACA makes healthcare more doable.

I always find the comments on these articles interesting.

Anything that says ER is possible, and lists some good, practical methods, the comments are filled with fury from those who don't believe they can do it.

Anything that says ER is possible, but there are some good, practical reasons not to retire, the fury comes from those who did it, or believe they can, and think the article is trying to trick them into working longer. No one is every happy :P
