Same kind of booms in aerospace back in the 80's, companies would win a $2bil contract, hire 20,000 and 1 year later at end of final design review, they would hand out 19,000 pink slips.

Co-worker told me he used to drive from LA to Seattle in his Corvette, with his clothes, job shop at Boeing for $45/hr, live in a rooming house for 8-10 months, save most of it and that he knew almost the exact day he was gonna get axed. Pink slip and final check, in the Corvette back to LA.

I've recently visited about 1/2 the major cities in the US, and I did not sense a boom time. I'm in Vegas right now, and most casinos have much smaller crowds than I remember from the 80's and English is not the first language of most.

Nice picture, but it looks like ribs rather than bacon. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
