Best Fund Family of the Decade

Interesting article comparing fund families from 2000 - 2009. Vanguard topped only by American (Fidelity was third).

Avoid Janus, Putman, and Invesco like the plague.

sorry, they weren't the "Best" fund familes, just the Largest..
were the industry's three largest firms, American Funds, Vanguard Group and Fidelity Investments,

And Can remove American since it got so big in paying major Commission fees to FA's and pension Plan Administrators, not privet investors.. from it's Major Load fee's.. Just like Blue Corss got so big the same way..they paid the best commissions to agents yrs ago..

The Best ranking Fund Familes on a Per Fund Basis? Cna ck with M* for that list and use their Top 25 list as well.. It's a Whole mix bag of Fund companies. and dominated mostly by Load Fund Funds..

In Barron's 2/1/10 it has their list of the best fund families. Putnam came in at #1. Fido #26 and Vanguard #40 out of 61.
