My biggest 'money' fear is a prolonged sideways market.

Even in a sideways market there are things going up (small caps, RE, commodities) and things going down (the dollar). The trick is to find them...

If you are still working, this is a good thing for you. Much better than a rising market in which you would be paying more for stocks.

Re: Biggest money fears

I'm expecting a "correction" one of these days, and have decided to lower my large-cap blend and small-cap blend into LCV and SCV with the extra cash in my portfolio. May also add to micro-cap and emerging markets.

Yeah, I know, dirty market timer... *

Re: Biggest money fears

Better Investing magazine this month chimed in on a "sideways market" also being good for the long term investor dollar cost averaging.

Re: Biggest money fears

"You die young" may be a worry but it doesn't have much to do with money (unless I'm afraid of someone else spending my hoard).

My biggest money fear is the exact opposite - I last longer than my money does.
