When I did firecalc, I put in an annual spending amount. so that's the number I figured out I would need. So not sure how this book would be useful.

My question was "do I have enough to retire?" which of course made me figure out what we would need in terms of spending etc. This would be the more typical question for an early retiree.

I suppose there are folks who get close to standard retirement and then figure out how much they can spend?
