You could go gay, thus avoiding the family part anyway.

None of these people should retire. Retirement is morally bankrupt at any age. Die with you boots on! Or your Ferragamo pumps, or your Allen Alden's.

Re: Can this person retire?

Hmmm, that is kinda odd. So more people think a 50-60 year old would be better able to retire with $2M, versus $3M? And a 65 year old is better off with $1M than $1.5? Strange.

Definatly the question. It should be a requirment for anyone to provide the answer when they ask if they have enough to retire.

You pays your money and you takes your chances. *That's life.

Who said the millionaire 30 YO couldn't go back to work if they started a family?

Who said the 65 YO multimillionaire couldn't get wiped out by lawsuits or health costs?

Exactly. Stop the agony, soldier on.

Society will have more respect for you. Your adult children will think you're a hero, and above all you'll feel better about yourself.

And besides that, the damn golf courses and fly-streams are crowded enough already.

If 1 M is enough, the higher numbers will also work. Why bother selecting something that is obvious.
