Canadian investment trusts...
The Financial Post today warned that there is pressure on investment trusts lately, particularly energy trusts. They warn against trusts with debt to cash flow ratios higher than 2. They gave good and bad examples, but since I don't invest in Canadistan directly anymore, I did not write them down.
Now we return to your regularly scheduled program.

O&G trusts have been declining with the price of oil. Some are sound and some are not, like any other stock. It is harder but not impossible to determine their financial status. There are many US investors in these.
Bell Canada announced their plans today to become a trust. That may force the government to make them less attractive... |
