Chow Yun Fat - living the below your means dream

https://shanghai.ist/2018/10/15/chow...ne-to-charity/

Movie star of crouching tiger , hidden dragon . Etc , appears to be an unassuming lbym er

I am guessing the tuxedo in the article picture of him cost more than 100 dollars. Maybe itís a rental though 🤷

Perhaps some text about the link so people don't have to click on it?

$6 shirt, $2 sandals.... that's 8% of $100 monthly, on clothing.
I would NEVER consider spending 8% of my monthly budget on clothing.

Obviously a clothes horse.

Thanks for the link. It fits in with the recent why not have a higher withdrawal rate thread. He seems like a happy guy with a generous nature.

$3.5 USD a day, guess he owns his house? Street food by itself is easily $2 a day.

Wonder how he pays for his utilities and house upkeep ..

I wonder if when he dies, will he leave any money to his wife (if she outlives him)? He says he will give it ALL to charity...

I have him beaten, I paid 3 Oxford T-shirts for $15(it was while traveling too), my flip flop costs only .99c from Navy store in Maui. I generally buy stuff when I travel.

But considering that spending in proportion to one's networth - his is $714M - you are a spendthrift.
