Re: Commodities Cracking?

brewer12345,

Thanks all the sharing. Very nice picks. Recommend PDP.TO, if you have a bigger appitie for risk, try CLL.TO.

I have some questions about CFA. It is helpfule to your work? I mean since you have MBA already?

Letters after one's name are always helpful, and the CFA is a hard to get and sought after designation. Not something drastically important to my current employer, but it opens up a lot of doors for me.

Right before my level 3 exam I took a weekend long review course just to make double sure I would pass the last part. My instructor was a PhD and a CFA charterholder. When I talked to him afterwards and I asked him why he bothered with a CFA after his PhD he said that having the charter is like buying an annuity. Despite whatever it's really worth, employers put such a huge value on it that it's worth the work to get it

That's about right. I also figured that since I had mostly covered all the material for Level I and most of Level II in my MBA classes, I might as well put in the extra work. It wasn't like I was ever going to have time again, since we were starting to have kids.

The number of CFA or CPA is significantly lower than that of MBA. People with certifications are highly sought by employers.
