Congrats to DW

After paying into SS for many, many years, today there is a deposit in joint checking from SSA. Yes, it was expected. It sure is nice to see something returned after paying so much in. Don't understand how she qualifies, seeing as how she is 29 and holding, but we will take it.

Perfectly understandable.
My DW recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of her 29th birthday.

Same here. DW wanted her SS at 62. Period. No discussion. It was only $1200/m, and she does have a congenital heart issue that she insists will likely shorten her life. I preferred to be more positive but, in the big picture, it was not a big deal. Between that and her pension for the last 3 years, she loves what she can do with "her money".
