Diamonds From Dirt, Final Edition
Some people have expressed an interest in following a small riverfront land development project of mine. I have now completed the construction. The original thread can be read here: http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...irt-26793.html
We completed the cottage (with the exception of a handfull of punchlist items) and spent the last two weeks vacationing there. It was very livable and we are more than pleased with all aspects of the project. I am including a few pictures to show how it turned out.

Nice job. Looks like you kept to the original plan, but decided to go with a gas or pellet fireplace.

Yep. We went with a direct-vented gas log system which provides ambiance and emergency backup heat without the expense of a masonry fireplace and chimney.
