Mmmm...I have a couple of slices of pizza in the fridge AND some beer. But I also have a pork loin in there and the wife wants jamaican jerk pork for dinner...

I'm quite sure they have absolutely no beer in france. I'd bet money on it.

I am getting ready to open our Emigrant Direct savings account.* Our existing checking account that I want to "link to" (and "fund")* the Emigrant Direct account charges $15 for each electronic transfer (in or out).* Is this the norm?*

Are you sure the charge doesn't just apply to wire transfers? Most electronic transfers, incuding those to and from Emigrant Direct, are via ACH (Automated Clearing House) and I have never heard of a bank charging for an ACH transaction.
