end of america

I think this qualifies as financial porn, it runs a bit long:
Stansberry's Investment Advisory

The executive summary:
Hyperinflation, Govt will confiscate all hard assets of it's citizens to pay its debts when "the end" comes. Riots, chaos, etc
Solution: you can buy gold and store it in a foreign country. Find ways to grow food and get clean water when we go third world. Will also let you "legally" transfer money to foreign banks without the goverment knowing (shhh, don't tell anybody ). I didn't listen to the whole thing, like I said it ran long and when they recommend buying gold and storing in a foreign country I couldn't take it any longer. If you are suicidal, don't watch it. They use yugoslovia as their example, I'm not a history expert, but I thought their economic problems were a result of other factors, hence the break up.

TJ
I didn't realize Roosevelt confiscated gold, I can't imagine what the reaction would be today if the govt tried that.

Just for fun, Google "Porter Stansberry", and toss in keywords such as, "SEC Lawsuit", "Fraud", or "Convicted".

Interesting article about Japan - new debt assumption has exceeded tax receipts for the last two years. I'm no economist, but that seems very scary....

Have you seen this nation's debt? It looks worse than Japan's.

Think Japan is still far worse in terms of debt to gdp ratio.

One interesting difference between Japan and US is that apparently nearly all Japan government debt is held by its people -- where the US govt debt is held largely by foreign nations (China, Japan, etc).

He is an alarmist. He will get some people to buy in to his story.

After his long winded story to scare people (at 42:13 on Youtube) ... he gives the pitch...
Quote:
The Good News is, no matter what happens, I' have found several ways for you to protect your savings - and you could make 3 to 5 times your money over the next few years.
Aside from his alarmist tactic... the words "No Matter What" is a pretty broad statement.

Plus If we experience hyperinflation... how would someone make a real 3x to 5x? In that scenario... wouldn't the sucker break even?

He is peddling his report about hiding money from the govt before our money is confiscated. He also recommends buying as much gold and silver as possible. (This is about 60 minutes into the video).

He will send you his gold bible free of charge. ... a selfless public service no doubt!
