ER Forum Dinner in January for Wash DC area
I set up a new thread for this. I'll leave the details out (you know where to look) other than it will be on Saturday night Jan 14. I'll coordinate, you can either PM me or reply here, your choice. I've already heard from three people so we have a good start.

"I'll leave the details out (you know where to look)"
Doggone it, I do NOT know where to look, lol!
Thanks.

Weather alert. we have about 8 of us signed up, but the forecast for Saturday is looking a bit iffy with possible ice. However, since forecasts around here are about as believable as [MOD EDIT] what I'll do is post out a Yes/No/Come If You Can notice in this thread around noon on Saturday. Or you can try sending me a PM.

Looks like the weather will be OK, except possibly for sites well north of DC, so we're on for tonight t 7:30. I'll have a table reserved for the Early Retirement group and will be wearing a bright pink shirt.

I'm going to bow out. We're having some ice and I'm not at all keen on driving over the mountain on Rt. 9 between Charles Town, WV and Hillsboro, VA. It's the stereotypical windy twisty country mountain road that can be fun on a dry day but nasty on ice.
Enjoy!

Six of us made it and we all had a great time. I'll set another one up for sometime during the summer.

That is a great turnout for a board full of introverts, and six is a nice number in that everyone could talk to each other.

No, I'm fairly certain they all just sat and stared at their phones all evening.

Dang it! How did I miss this? Do we really have to wait until summer or is anybody interested in doing something sooner?

Great! I hope I can make it next time, I was really looking forward to it and hated having to back out.

Next time I'll bring my DSLR and four strobe lights. There will be pictures! (Assuming the folks in them consent, of course.)

Thanks to Madsquopper for taking the lead. This was a great idea and we enjoyed meeting some of our local FIREers. We discussed everything from SWR to whether you can work and still be "retired" to retirement travel and pondered the question: Beer for Breakfast? As well as the answer, which was "yes". It was a diverse group. I am pretty sure we had some total return investors as well as dividend fans. Paparazzi were banned and we let discreetly so I am pretty sure there are no pictures. But maybe next time?

Count me in too--driving from PA will be easier when it isn't in the dark both ways!

Maybe not so diverse if you all agreed on "beer for breakfast".
