We were a little uncomfortable at first about them plastering our financial stuff in the articles but when we really thought about we realized what the heck,we should be proud of our accomplishments.I think it was in our minds at first that crazies would come out of the wood work and try to kidnap us or something or we would be hounded by sales pitches.Truth is not one call or crazy and its 7 months later.
As far as how we got in money magazine,a friend told us to contact them as he thought it would be interesting to read about a pre-retiring couple who basically does all their own investing and planning as opposed to the usual articles of couples with enourmous debt and no money or plan and to see what their professionals thought they could improve on.
Once your in one the others want you too,its like dating.
I think the part we like best is the attention you get at the photoshoots. For money magazine they sent the cnn photo team,a make up person,a clothes person,it was pretty wild.Fidelity shot it at a local park by the water. It looked like a movie set with all the lighting and umbrellas. The best part was people walking by trying to figure out who we were.
they didnt give us any of the pics to preview just the article.oh man what they did to my wife for the money mag article, they make you look like plain vanilla. No accenting make up, no curly hair, they make you look as blendable into the article is they can.I couldnt believe that was her in the article.in fact if you saw her picture in the article ill try to post a real pic of her and see what they did for the article...
yep still working. My daughter decided to go for her masters so we are sticking it out another 2-3 years although we may entertain moving to our final resting ground and i would continue to work until she graduates.3 weddings ,a masters and an agreement i did on my own with my ex to continue to provide child support even though my daughter is 23 until she graduates and can work full time to contribute to help my ex while she lives at home set us back a year or so but its okay.As long as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel
