I worry about funding my kids college. I only have 1k put aside for each with 6-7 years before they start using it. My step kids have nothing but the oldest is going to a high school that automatically does a full ride scholarship with in-state schools after graduating which is pretty good and his brother will be applying to go to the same high school when he gets older. My kids aside from what I have put aside for them also have 10k a piece that was setup by their great-grandfather on my exwifes side before he passed but I don't think it is earning any interest.
The oldest step son is also talking about just joining the military when he turns 18 which is good as is my older son also. It is scary and tuition keeps going up(as I can tell since I am going back to school right now and working full time what fun).
