FSA question

CyclingInvestor brought a point on another thread that I had not thought about. Retiring before years end, if you have $$ in an FSA account, does the law require you to use the money in the FSA prior to retirement date or do you have until years end (after retirement date)? If at retirement date, we should plan accordingly. Don't like loosing funds. Anyone have the answer? Thanks.

When I retired, I had the use the FSA by my last day. HSA carries forward.

I'd suggest that you check with your HR department.

I think that's correct. Must use FSA by the time you terminate from the sponsoring employer.
