Krugman discussed this more than a year ago. Only his argument is laid out in the form of economic theory, rather than simply stoking fears which actually run counter to the evidence (i.e. "ignore the fact that interest rates have declined 100bp since the beginning of the crisis, they are set to spike at any moment").
