help with FIREcalc

Hi,

I have many questions with the FIREcalc, hope you guru's will explain to this beginner.

1. Asking for starting value of portfolio.* Is this what my balance is now, or what it is projected to be in 15 years whan I retire?

2. Is it true that the withdrawl rate that is displayed in the results is based on what you select in box 1 (how much do you want), and does not take into account a reduction for say a pension you indicate in withdrawl rate 1?
For example if I put in $850,000 as balance, with taking $100,000 a year out, but also drawing a $100,000 pension and two $10,000 SS for self and spouse. The results show a forst year withdrawl of over 11.00%.

It is the balance as of the point you wish to retire.
