How much time per day (or week) do you spend on financial 'stuff'?

30 minutes a day perusing Morningstar, then checking the day's portfolio fluctuation in the evening.

check how accounts I deal with compares with FA accounts... usually a quick look daily. you know... even though I suck at investing, I seem to do OK compared to the FA.

ER... 1.5 months... need to get this running itself.. need the time for more necessary things like hiking!

How much time per day or week do you spend on financial 'stuff' like
checking your accounts: 1 minute/day. I look at a google spreadsheet close to daily and update actual accounts to account for dividends ~ quarterly.

AA: ~quarterly virtually no time involved

financial blogs, this forum, other financial forums: ~ 30 minutes daily here, 30 minutes a week elsewhere

watching the talking heads on TV: never

calculators: never anymore, infrequent in the past

selling/buying assets: ~ 1 hour per year total to make withdrawals and rebalance

estimating taxes, etc: 8 hours annually primarily at tax time doing tax returns

Other than balancing accounts: checking and credit cards. Probably a peak in July and January for investments as well as lots of time in April. I don't track the hours, just do what needs to be done.

I also run a couple of market predicting contests that need an hour max once a month.
