Biker, I don't think that is the issue.It was a summer internship, it wasn't going to last more than a year. The fact the employer included the expenses on the W2 doesn't mean that he can't deduct the expenses if otherwise deductible. It sucks if an employer does this because of limits on the amounts that can be deducted.

Well if faced with a choice I always take the road (in my favor) of less taxes. Let the IRS prove me wrong.

Besides Fairmark.com The tax forum on the Motley Fool is another good source. A couple of former IRS agents, and couple of CPA hang out there.
