Given that California does not recognize the tax benefits of an HSA...

For those Californian's treating their HSA account as a long-ish term investment, how do you have your HSA invested?

[Sorry if this has already been discussed. I didn't see anything recent on the subject.]

If you are invested in bond funds in some other account, some people recommend to shift the bond allocation to treasury or TIPs in the HSA, because interest from US government obligations are not subject to state taxes.

Other than that, the usual recommendation to invest in tax efficient assets applies, e.g. total stock market index fund. Hopefully, by the time you need to use the money, you are out of reach by the CA FTB.
