Because ING Direct would not allow a beneficiary designation, I switched to Captitalone Direct Banking. But what a difference in money transfer performance. ING's transfers between my local checking account and my on-line account did not have a three day hole where no one claims to have my money. I even had instances where a transfer into ING showed up before my local bank showed the withdrawal! Typically the money left one day and showed up the next day.
With Capitalone, the ACH transfer left my local bank on 1/22 and did not arrive until 1/25 at my on-line account. I realize that ACH is not a wire transfer, but 3 days for a bank-to-bank transfer? Who has money money working for them during those three days? Am I being too hard on Capitalone?
