Does it make any sense to invest in Hawaii? I have been wondering if this could be a West Coast boomer retirement play.

Sure it's not Florida, but it is a kind of Paradise and it has an International attraction. Especially for Japan and China.

Any thoughts?

Aren't the prices in Hawaii already inflated?

Yeah, Hawaii has already been invested in. I'd love to buy a condo on Maui, but the prices are nuts.

$600K gets you a one bedroom built in the 70's. :P

Saluki,

I'm looking at a Studio on the 6th floor of a Condo Hotel for $285,000. It is about 250 paces from Waikiki Beach with a full view of Diamond Head over the park.

The Hotel will rent it for me when I'm not there at $120 night.

That doesn't seem overpriced or anywhere near $600,000. True, it is just a Studio but that is all I need.
