Leading Indicators???
We are midst of a major remodeling project of our new downsized home. Project includes a new kitchen and lots of new interior things like doors and plumbing features.
When we started most of the key items were going to take up to six plus weeks to get. The kitchen cabinets were going to be the longest. Finally found a quality provider who does a lot of work for builders (Merillat) who would commit to four weeks.
Surprise and joy they are here in 10 days. Then two special order doors including a six foot french which were a "minimum" if two weeks got here in just a little over a week.
Call me cautious but I am thinking the bloom has definitely fallen off the housing boom. I am guessing cabinets quick ship resulted from a builder cancelling (bankrupt?) on a larger order. The doors reflect a drop in order take so shorter backlogs get them done earlier.
Anyone else seeing signs of weakness?
