Hi- other knowledgeable traders on this board may help too (let's hope)... ask your questions about online stock trading and its pitfalls and successes.... maybe someone will give you a short-term forecast too (provide STOCK SYMBOL please).

Let me lead off with a warning- threads like this sometimes get attacked by roving pumpanddump gangs... what they do is come in and promote some supposedly hot stock (you may even get a PM on it in your mailbox)... DO NOT BUY... I or other pro traders will spot them and warn you too... a pumpand dump works by getting a lot of inexperienced people to buy a stock- the price then rockets up for about 20 minutes then crashes... newbies get left holding the bag while the cons walk away with a sackful of cash- your cash.... so be careful. BUT there's a big difference between pumpanddump and someone giving normal reasons for buying a stock (most pro traders will mention some technical analysis reasons- not hype). "Normal" opinions are usually very calm and reasoned- and cautious- and you don't get them as spam in your mailbox... so join us to learn- lot of talent here!
:D

Oh, yea. This is much better than a pump and dump.

as a reasonbable person, why don't you just wait and see how it develops? if you've had some bad experience, why not share it so others can learn? that's much more constructive than vaguely bashing something that might help a lot of people, isn't it? stop wearing your pain on your sleeve and talk about it- you might help someone else. :D

Or when you're done eschewing the pump and dumpers, you could read the board rules about commercial postings, or at least note that prior spammers are oh for 382 in trying to get some action here. We're not that dumb.

But thanks for playing...now buh bye.

You're right... my pain is that I might have once been molested by someone who promised that I could "Learn Pro Stock Trading in Just 1 Week"

So... there... it's out in the open. Discuss.

How do you feel about this possible molestation?

Disclosure #1: I was a camp counsellor for 3 years at a camp for abused kids

Disclosure #2: I have had 2 glasses of wine that did not come from a box

Disclosure #3: neither of the above two disclosures should bring down or escalate this discussion

this thread is simply open to all to ask questions and get answers. it's not a commercial thread. everyone is allowed to have their own signature- and everyone is allowed to look into that signature and do or not do whatever they want about it. i've already spoken with a mod about this. but i do understand your sensitivity on such issues. :)

That ain't getting you past the bouncer at Neverland.

Disclosure #1 is a big part of the reason why I wasnt selected as a juror at the recent jury duty for the local serial child molester...

okay- now that everybody's got clear of whatever- let's try to focus on what's important- helping inexperienced investors avoid losses and maybe make some cash :D

I'm sorry, what part of commercial posts are not allowed didnt you understand?

Perhaps the "blow me" was a little too understated?

How about **** off?

By the way, nice try at a pass, but I dont think you did. We only have one "mod" here. I doubt you talked to him ;)

Psst, whattolearn, buy ELN!
.....and DSCO! :D

heheh- after all that other stuff, wasn't sure if you were just joshing me so i looked and WHOA- that ELN is one SCARY CRITTER, huh? nasdaq chart
chance for big gain or loss, hey? what happened there end of feb and end of march? bad news? right now, definitely shows signs of life, though- general uptrend in the past week. macd negative divergence decreasing (for others- macd is Moving Average Convergence Divergence- see at nasdaq chart) and may cross its signal line tomorrow tuesday... will look at it more closely with other indicators... ah hah! found the march news that killed it... this doesn't make it a bad pick- just FYI for others than you Laurence--- sometimes (and i haven't looked yet) companies dump their ceo's after lawsuits like this and go on to be good stocks. but here's a piece of the info...
"Throughout the Class Period, defendants caused Elan to make a number of positive statements about the status of its clinical trials and the commercial potential of TYSABRI, a vaccine designed to treat patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), causing Elan's stock to trade at artificially inflated prices. The Complaint alleges that Elan ... issuing false or misleading information... in order to fast track TYSABRI for FDA approval so that they could reap the financial benefits from the sales of the drug... with at least one instance resulting in death. The announcement caused Elan's shares to plummet, declining over 70% to approximately $8 per share on February 28, 2005."
full story see: nasdaq news
like i said i'll look closer at technicals and offer my opinion for what it's worth.... thanks for pick, Laurence! main thing, it shows people how to find news to explain stock perf. commenting on DSCO next post....

about DSCO. Laurence- i just scanned chart briefly. I'm wondering if the train's already left the station on this one. what do you think? looks like a typical headnshoulders run (others: where chart launches and goes up at a steep angle to a peak, then down a little, then up almost to where it was, then down again- a long way down see it at nasdaq chart).
so is there some "fundamentals" here we should know about that could make it keep going up, Laurence? thanks again :)

if i discuss that it WOULD be a commercial post... so let's just focus on what helps folks here... :D

Whattolearn contacted me and asked what is OK and what isn't -- I replied "no sales pitches". He offered to rephrase his initial post and try again -- that is this thread.

For whattolearn and others wondering about the reaction that you've seen . . .

By and large, the people on this forum are those who have been successful already, to the point that they have stopped working years before the customary age, or plan to soon enough that they are making plans for that situation, and are thus on this site.

In general, they don't come here for investment ideas or advice -- they go elsewhere if they seek such.

Whattolearn, what you need to learn that "folks here" are not interested in whatever it is you are trying to sell. And "what helps folks here" (and you as well) is for you to seek other venues for your sales pitch, as us "folks" aren't buying.

Yeah! - I'm ready - in about 25 years from now in the nursing home when they cut off my viagra, the nursing aids start looking ugly, and the battery dies in my hover round.

Then you can park my old dead wheelchair in front of a terminal in the home - so I can day trade instead of watching soaps.

Please place me on your do-not-call list whattolearn.

Hey, WTL, how about ANUS? I sthat a good buy?

Thanks for explaining, dory36. I do see threads here with folks asking about brokers and various financial instruments. So I'm here. Those who want to know how to prevent loss in the market will ask- they'll just have to wade through the posts of those who wish to prevent them from finding out... ::)

Hey WTL;

Looks to me like your "tag line" at the bottom is as blatant a sales pitch as possible..... although I am dissapointed at the lack of a free toaster in the offer.

You might also consider using the left area of the posting box (where people put various pictures) to post a picture of yourself. That way I can make sure to run, if I see you on the street.

Please take the hint (subtle or not) from the above posts and cease and desist. You have a better chance of scoring with a lottery ticket or a trifecta at the track, then here

WTL -

If you're serious about helping, here are 3 issues that I have with your approach -

1. "Those who want to know how to prevent loss in the market will ask"
But you never waited for someone to ask, you *solicited*

2. YOUR SUBJECT IS IN ALL CAPS
This is a standard warning sign of skullduggery

3. You have a solicitation in your signature.
I know, you don't think it is one. I think it is. So do others. Perception is Reality.
