Life Insurance Question

I have a Life Insurance Policy that has been paid up for years. My question is can I have that policy owner changed to someone else but me. I would be the insured but now the owner?

I assume that you meant that you would be the insured but not the owner.

That should be possible, talk with the insurer.

It might also be a gift to the new owner and trigger having to report it.

Thank you and yes that is what I meant to say. I would not be the owner of the policy but name someone else.
