Anyone have good data on when the medicare trust fund will need an increased tax rate to keep it solvent ? and how much of an increase.

I've seen estimates of anywhere from 2008 to 2018 to complete meltdown , but a payroll tax increase will have to be sneeking up soon.

Is the next congress likely to take action? ?

If it will make you feel better if they raise the payroll tax rather than have costs paid somewhere else with higher insurance premiums for everyone else/cost shifting, I would lobby for an increased tax....

I guess Al Gore had it right....put it all in a "lockbox"... ;)

I am just amazed that people actually think there really is a 'lockbox'....

(and yes, I saw your smiley, but some people believe what you wrote...)

She said Gore was right, not that there actually was a lockbox.
