Sorry, off-topic here. (everybody else can ignore please). How about your Bosox the last 2 games. My wife was born and raised in the Bronx, and is a Yankees fan from way back. (Other than that she's o.k.) Wakefield had his knucker working so well, that I was afraid, it would get down to a pass ball losing the game for them. (Veritek, along with the Yankees had no clue). I've got a $100.00 bet with one of the guys I play golf with, and he called me after the game last night, and asked me if I would like to pay him half and forget the rest. I was insulted! I would dearly love to see them win the next 2 games, (as unlikely as it is), basically to see the fallout of Steinbrenner imploding. (One of the side benefits of being anti-Yankee.) ![]() Both teams have a worn out pitching staff at this point, so could be very interesting. Take care, Jarhead |

Re: Money/Happiness
As a 50/60s rock n roller I liked the song Money.
lyrics as I recollect: "the best things in life are free, but you can give them to the birds and bees I want money, that's what I want. Your love gives me such a thrilll, but your love don't pay my bills, I want Money. " |

And if you're not the LEAD rat, your view all day is rat butt. Jarhead...I'm confused...you said she's a yankees fan but is otherwise ok...that just doesnt compute... ![]() A cant miss if you get "comedy central" is to catch the latest Daily Show with John Stewart. In it, a kid from MA who lives in a house babe ruth built says he believes the curse of the bambino has been ended because he was hit in the face with a stray fly ball and since he lives in ruths old house, and they've now won two games to battle back, he thinks that ball in the face ended it. The priceless part is when they're interviewing these two typical boston guys who are half in the bag at the local bahhh. They ask these guys if they think the kid who lives in ruth's house getting hit in the face with the ball might have ended the curse. One guy says "Nahhhh....thats stoooopid...I get hit in the face with balls all the time and that didnt end the curse". About 2 seconds later he realizes what he says and looks very afraid just before his friends all start laughing saying "Yeah, we think you should have more balls hitting you in the face until the curse does end!". I figure 3, maybe 4 years before he stops getting crap about that one...

Re: Money/Happiness
Getting back to the "off-topic topic", I prefer BTO's
'Takin' Care of Business' or Dire Straits "Money for Nothing'. But, I digress................... Another advantage I had over some ERs and ER wannabees is that I always knew I could cut way back. Not that it was easy. After you get used to a high consumption lifestyle, it can be a struggle (still is actually). But, the ability to cut further gives me additional security, doubly important in my case as I am working with a very small pile, compared to most posters here. Sometimes I feel like the guy who said, "I started out with nothing and I still have some of it left!" ![]() John Galt |

What's curmudgeondom? Dunno what that is, and neither does dictionary.com.

Re: Money/Happiness
I feel so bad for wal-mart greeters. I want to ask those old guys (no offense to those applicable) what they were when they were younger. I sometimes wonder if they were CEOs at a big corporation.
