Interesting...realtors are seeing a higher rate of people dumping their appreciated homes and either renting or taking the cash and moving to cheaper parts of the country.

Could drive up some rents in disparate areas, or drive up housing costs in those 'cheaper parts'. Thats what happened here in sacramento...lots of SF bay area homeowners selling their million dollar dog houses and buying $300-400k mcmansions that are now worth a million as well...

You folks in texas might want to start breeding more scorpions and rattlesnakes to sprinkle around the airports and major highways to warn people off

I saw that article as well. Unfortunately, people are more attached to their homes than they are to a stock on they've made x2 or x3 their money. Then again, there were quite a few greedy people back in the dot-com days that just kept holding on to their "winners". :
