New Apple veterans discount

Apple has inaugurated a new program for active military and veterans (including immediate family members) that offers a 10% discount on a great many Apple items.

Veterans and Military Purchase Program

Pretty nice deal if you're eligible. It's a better discount than they offer in their educational store.

I thought growing old would take longer.

I have access to an Apple discount. 10 percent edu.

I was about to use it on a $429. item at the Apple store. Then I checked Staples. Same item was on sale for $349. Then I noticed it for $379 at Best Buy and at Costco.

The 10% promotion is nice for when Apple introduces new products and all of the retailers are selling them for full price. But after a few months you can usually find a better than 10% discount by shopping around on the internet a bit.
