New NASD Requirement..............

I just got notification that the NASD is requiring that the inclusion of gross expense ratios be included in all mutual fund sales materials that include investment results.

This will result in greater transparency for investors, which is a good thing. I did a little research, and this rule was originally proposed in 2004...........so I guess thins take time...........

Don't worry.....the financial community will soon figure out how to hide it among the "small print....lawyer talk" stuff, so that no one will notice.

I think the requirement should be that they have to subtract the gross expense ratio when reporting annual returns. For example if the fund returned 10% with a 2% ER, then the only number they could put on their graphs or tables would be 8% not 10%.

A fair number of the better run firms already do that.............
