I guess I am also unsure what the point (or purpose) of this Poll is.
It's quite obvious to me : to find out the value of assets (e.g, portfolio) prior to retirement among those who do not have substantial income from pensions or any other sources. For those with fat (or generous) pensions, the poll may not be applicable since they do not have to touch their assets for living expenses.

Financial assets: $750K
Paid off house @$450K
COLAd pension
reasonable medical coverage
No SS
Did a calculation that if I were to sell my (our) entire financial life (IRAs, cars, coins, garage tools, whatever), inc house and est value of pension, should be willing to take a check for $3M.

I'd imagine that there are plenty of people who had COLA'd "3% at 50" pensions, possibly spiked to boot, plus retiree health insurance who were able to retire in their early 50s with almost no savings.

I'm not retired yet, but most likely when I do it will be in the $1-2M category.

Not RE yet, but voted $2-$5m. There will be no pension. Health insurance not an issue.
