You're confusing this simple mind.

If you wanted to refer to an old dead thread, why didn't you just reply to it to bump it? What was the point of posting a link to a thread on the same board with no preamble, and no context?

Oy.   I posted that in reply to somebody else who has since deleted their post.   So it only seems odd in this new context.   If you delete your post too, then this reply will seem even stranger.
