Renting Out on Airbnb for Extra Money

We rented out our spare bedroom for a few years via a similar group. It is perhaps fitting to mention that we live in a unique area. Very rural, with two large universities. Hotels fill-up during certain sporting events.
We had mixed results. Most were very nice and wanted to socialize a little. Some we hardly saw. One never showed up, but paid anyhow (Wish that was common!) One set chose to come home puking drunk, and left it for us to clean. The last chose to disregard our instructions, causing herself to slip and fall on our property in the mud.
We don't have the spare room anymore-and I'm not sure we would rent out the room if we did, but frequently use VRBO for renting homes on trips.
