NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- "Amid concerns about the housing market and consumers, Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo on Monday said they remain confident enough about credit quality to boost their offerings of riskier loans such as subprime mortgages and home equity loans or to seek new credit card business."

Maybe it is just because Countrywide is cutting its offerings and Wamu and Wells Fargo just want to snatch the business.
