ROTH question (easy I hope)
I can't seem to find the answer with searching, so I'm asking here. Thanks in advance.
I'm 48. I have a ROTH IRA held by TD Ameritrade. It consists of a money market account (usually a zero balance) and mutual funds. Can I sell the mutual funds, with proceeds going into the money market account, and then reinvest in a different mutual fund without facing a penalty? In other words, as long as the money isn't ever withdrawn from the ROTH account, is it okay to sell and buy mutual funds within the account without facing penalties?
Again, thanks in advance.
