Is this a government funded study subliminal message?

"That old money won't make you happy!"

[quiet soothing whisper] more taxes, more taxes, mooooooooooore taxes.... taxes are good, taxes are good......... taxes makes you happy, don't you want to be happy, pay more taxes.....

While it may be interesting to study the relative happiness of different economic or other social groups I do not think it look into the nature of happiness. I think happiness is an 'internal' thing, maybe congenital or maybe clarified by a life event, maybe even a choice we make, but not based on external events. I am a happy person, was happy with a negative net worth and now in FI/retirement, before and after (but not during) divorce, happily remarried. DS cringes when he sees me smiling and singing, says 'oh no, dads having another happy attack'. And yes, chinaco, I'll be happy whether taxes go up or down.
Don't worry, be happy!

Old men ought to be explorers
