Simplecare no-insurance healthcare

May have been covered before
http://www.simplecare.com/index.htm

A network of doctors who take discounted cash payments instead of (or sometimes in addition to) insurance. Low cost. Not widely spread but a fast growing outfit. Several providers within a 30-45 minute drive of where I live.

<applause>

Leave it to entrepreneurs--not bureaucracies--to make us happy.

Re: Simplecare no-insurance healthcare

Actually wasnt it the bureaucracy that made this possible? So much of it that some doctors ran away?

This ties in with what i've heard in other areas, such as the doctors on the provider lists for those "$100 medical cards" where the doctor will charge you the agreed upon rate for the insurance companies doing it without the card.

Seems like a lot of docs are getting sick and tired of mounting paperwork and overhead. Give me fifty cents on the dollar now, free and clear, rather than a dollar two months from now minus forty cents of overhead.
