Re: So are ya doing anything?

John, regarding personal "bests". That got me thinking and I believe yesterday may have been one of mine. Kind of a long story... My daughter is a senior in high school, but I'll never forget the day she was born. She was struggling in intensive care and we were told she would have disabilities. We got her into therapy as an infant and worked with her at home. At about age 2, she just snapped out of it and caught up. The therapists sent us away and said we didn't need to return.

Sixteen years later (yesterday) we went to a television taping and luncheon sponsored by a Big 10 university and our local NBC affiliate. It's called "Best of Class". The valedictorians from each of the 75 high schools in our part of the state are honored with a brief TV appearance (they state their name and their school) and those short clips are aired for three weeks in May during the news. There is also a taping of all the valedictorians together throwing their mortarboards into the air. Just seeing my daughter toss her cap with that group was one of the highlights of my life.

Bob, congratulations to your daughter, and to you and your wife. Truly a peak experience; and a lot of hard work, dedication and love getting there.

Mikey

Re: So are ya doing anything?

Hey Bob........great story! Not sure I can top that one.

I had lunch with my youngest daughter today (sophomore in college). I am surely proud of her. Fortunately,
she has not had to overcome the kind of problems your daughter faced.
