I go to coffee 2-3 times a week, usually with coworkers. It gives us a chance to take a break from work and catch up, so it's more a social event. I usually just order small (or tall for Starbucks), regular. The comradery is well worth $5/week, or $20/month to me. I do bring my own lunch most days.

Actually I can't think of too many kinds of food/drink that would be worth splurging on--a sign of growing older? If I go out, it's mostly just for the company.

Fond of tilting at windmills are you?

I adjusted the coffee cost with inflation, and oops I had a math error.

It is merely a rhetorical example. A simple example of the power of a simple lifestyle change and saving.

I usually pick up a Dunkins on the way to work. The $2.38 is worth it for me. Every once in a while I brew my own for the 1 hour ride in to work, but it never tastes as good.
