State Tax Optimizer/Estimator ??

Any one know of a site allowing you to input your tax situation and get estimates of state tax load and therefore, the best state for that situation.

For instance, I'll have no property tax, no gas tax, no pension tax but will have intangibles, interest/dividend and sales tax.

There are lots of tables out there but are there any calculator/estimators??

Re: State Tax Optimizer/Estimator ??

You have to do each state one at a time, I dont see any 'show all 50 states from input' calcs, but one of those would be really, really cool.

I havent seen anything (but I have some tables). I suppose if you were thinking between 1 or 2 states, you could setup something in excel.

Re: State Tax Optimizer/Estimator ??

CFB and Maddy,
If I can find some cheap Excel labor, I may try to spreadsheet all 50 states.

Seems like it would be cool to input:
a) Expected interest/divident income
b) Expected pension income
c) Expected Social Security
d) Value of home
e) Expected yearly taxable purchases
f) Expected gasoline purchases
g) Expected tobacco purchases
h) Expected cheap wine purchases

Then bingo, "to optimize you should move to ..... Bun Lick, North Carolina"
