Sun Life bails out of US market.

Interesting that this Canadian company is bailing on the US yet will continue in Asia.

Sun Life Financial Inc. (SLF), Canada’s third-largest insurer, plans to stop selling variable annuities and individual life insurance products in the U.S. and will cut 800 jobs there as it shifts focus to Canada and Asia. The stock had its biggest gain in more than two years.

They stopped selling indexed annuities about a year ago and stopped selling life insurance in the US about two years ago too.

So that's why the adds stopped, (two junior execs go to sun valley and suggest they rename it Sun Life Valley and get thrown out on their ears)

Maybe they couldn't sell annuities because too many Americans were reading this board!
