I am sure there will be somebody here that can help me. After completing my return for 2012, I discovered a mistake I made in 2011. Should I go ahead and file an amended return at this point?

Since the mistake cost you $1,129,989 in extra taxes that you don't really owe, I think you would want to file an amended return to get that money back.
